Yes the Sivaji storm was well planned. When Rajni decided to do this film, it was given undue importance. After all he is an actor and doing another film is part of his profession. Then the “story” was held “secret”. Once in a while one or two stills appeared in magazines projecting the style-hero along with tidbits like “Rajni has reduced smoking. The number of cigarette packets was reduced to four only”. What a role model for the youngsters!!? Worth emulating!!!!
When Baadsha (starring Rajni) flopped, he settled the loss and is said to have paid RS 30 Crores. Distributors knew that even if Sivaji is a loss, Rajni would compensate. Spending 80 crore for a film in a country like India is a crime. It is any body’s guess the amount of black money involved. In another adjustment, the right to telecast Sivaji after three years was sold to Kalainjar TV. Every one knows the recent incidents in Madurai, related to Dinakaran survey, resignation of Maaran and the present condition of Sun TV, launching of Kalainjar TV etc. So it is not only PR hype but (invisible) politics is also involved.
