Azikode Declines Padma Award

The veteran writer and Critic Sukumar Azhikode Declined the padmasree awards saying that they were unconstitutional.According to him these awards create discrimination among peole and hence cannot be acceped.

Debates are not new to Azikode. He created one when he wrote the book "G Sankara kuruppu Vimarsikkapedunnu" crtisizing the great poet G Sankara Kurup Who won Jnanpith award."G Sankara Kurup is not a poet" Was Azikodes Contention.
Also when he wrote a book called Thathwamasi Which focused on Vedas and upanisaths, He was much critisized.

But his first Three books were well accepted.The first book`Asante Sita Kavyam' , the second , `Ramananum Malayala Kavithayum' and the third `Mahatmavinte Margam' were considered Classics.

Azikode is a gandhian and good orator. He has written many articles.Also he moves all over kerala and speaks. Also He is active against social evils and corruption.
