Mammootty or Mohan Lal, who’s the Malayalam superstar? I do not think there’s anyone more in the list. Well Mammootty and Mohan Lal have their own special qualities unique to them. They are the two pillars on which the Malayalam cinema today stands. One cannot replace the other.
I personally like Mammootty, his roles as police officers, commissioners, the serious roles. Mohan Lal is good for comic roles. He fits into a role easily, but can’t compete with Mammootty for serious roles. Mohan Lal is supposed to be the most versatile natural actor. The difference can be seen in HariKrishnan’s. Both of them are talented in their own way. Now who’s better?? I leave it to the readers.
Again don’t you think its time that these actors retire and give in way for the new generation of actors like Prithviraj, Dileep, Naren and the others.
The Indian cricket team today doesn’t have Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar or K Srikanth. The new generation has to lead. Perfect example is Tamil Cinema. It today has movies of Rajnikanth and Kamal Hasan at times but its Vikram, Surya, Ajit and Vijay who rules..
Mammooty and Mohan Lal playing romantic lead opposite heroines their daughter’s age like Meera Jasmine, Gopika, Bhavana… Aren’t they making a mockery of themselves? It’s high time that they stick to roles of their age now and step down gracefully like Amitabh Bachchan, the BigB.

They should have contributed something to the poor in society - The Tamil superstars are doing it. Let them show some care for the poor & let it be known to the public so that others also will have idea to follow their deeds.
