Balachandra Menon: An all round personality.

One of the most eminent directors of Malayalam. Balachandra Menon is awarded Padma Sree. He is an all rounder, simultaneously writing scripts, acting , directing and even singing. He is 63.

From his early college days Balachandra Menon was a noted actor. He acted in many Dramas and bagged many awards. In 1998,He received the National Award for Best Actor for his perfomance in the film Samantharangal. In this film He played the role of a station master. He is very faniliar with this role since his father was a railway station master .As early as 1978 He got the Kerala State Award for Best Story Writer for the script of Uthrada Rathri .As a movie director, many of his movies can be thought of as classics.
Also Balachandra Menon is a director who discovered many talents for the Kerala Film Industry. They include Sobhana, Maniyanpilla Raju, Karthika and Annie.The Beauty is that all these experimental films were success.

Also Balachandra Menon has acted in many T.V Serials. His performance in “Megham” Serial is glittering.
