Kerala have many traditional dance forms and rituals.Some of them are still being performed widely. The dance forms can be classified as.

Thullal

THULLAL

At last the 250 year old ban was lifted.
Thullal one of the performing arts of Kerala, was banned from performing at the Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Temple, 250 years ago.
WHY?
The reason is connected with the origin of this art itself. Hence here is how this Histrionic art developed.

Mohiniyattam which was patronized by Maharaja Swati Tirunal almost 175 years ago regained its favor since its incorporation in the curriculum of Kerala Kalamandalam established by Mahakavi Vallathol. The poet managed to employ the services of Chinnammu, and Kalyanikutti Amma the exponents of Mohiniyattam.
